Who is responsible for cleaning gutters and down spouts?
Owners are responsible for cleaning gutters and downspouts but the HOA at its discretion will from time to time have special projects that include repairing and or cleaning of all gutters. It is recommended that depending on tree coverage for your particular townhome that you hire a professional to clean out leaf and shingle debris when needed. Doing so will help your gutters last longer and route rain water better. Also, it is the responsibility of the owner to repair and replace their gutters when needed. The HOA secures and paints all gutters and down spouts per a scheduled maintenance policy. This is done at the same time of the painting of the buildings.
If you would like to know of vendors that some homeowners have used for this service or would like to find out more information about this subject you can do so by going to the Homeowners Forum (Topic: Gutter and downspout repair / cleaning contacts).
